Upcoming Road Trip
« Topic Start: May 10, 2010, 04:51:12 PM »
3 at Mets
4 at Rockies
2 at Cards

I'd be happy with a 4-5 road stand. I wouldn't really complain about a 3-6 roadtrip. that leaves us at .500 where we face the O's and weaker teams like Astros, Indians, Pirates, and Royals.

That should be fun.  St. Louis is a great place to watch a game.  I'm hoping for a 5-4 or better (as we all are, duh) going into that "easier" stretch.

My dream is to load up a car and tour all 30 ball parks some day.  Maybe I can find a sponsor and blog about it...

We all want over .500, but this is a VERY tough road trip.  4-5 would be satisfactory considering the difficulty level.

The annoying thing is that the easier games after the road trip are going to be so much tougher due to the lack of rest.  Five games at home against Baltimore and the Mets, but it's at the end of a 20-game no-rest streak. :bang:

I got more days off at Wal-Mart than the Nationals get.
Then again, they only paid me $350,000 a year.

So, at the end of the trip, we will be through the tough first 40 that had everyone thinking we would be off to a horrible start.  4 - 5 means we finish that stretch above .500, and while 4 - 5 would be OK, at this point many of us would be a bit disappointed.  I'd like 2-1 vs. the Mets. If we do that, 2-4 in the last 6 games would feel better than 1-2 with the Mets and 3-3 with the rest.

Are you sure that you are not combining your lifetime earning if you stayed at Wal-Mart until 80?

This will be a real 'test' road trip indeed, taking the Nats into a couple of real torture chambers: they've been swept at Coors Field three times (2006, 2007 and 2009 - the first of these was particularly ugly as they got torn up for 43 runs in the four-match series). Sr Louis away has been no vacation either - the Nats have been swept in their last two visits, their last win there coming on 27th May 2007 (7-2, Rivera with the win).

Actually, at $7.40/hour, assuming 36 hours a week (they avoid fulltiming you to skimp on insurance) and 2 weeks of vacation per year, you would make $350,000 after 26 years.
