Hill is coming off his best game of the season, when he gave up one run on
four hits in eight innings against the Braves. He retired 14 of the first 16
batters he faced, but he ran into trouble in the sixth inning, when Yunel
Escobar singled to right field to drive in Blanco and give Atlanta a 1-0 lead.
A tough critic on himself, Hill was satisfied with his outing, but he still needs
to work on his breaking ball.

Chacon had his least effective outing of 2008 in his last start on Wednesday,
yielding five runs over five innings in an eventual loss to the Diamondbacks.
Still, Chacon took a no-decision in that game, which brings his number of starts
without a decision to a grand total of six. His most recent outing was the only
one that didn't qualify as a quality start. Chacon faced the Nationals three
times last year, allowing four earned runs over seven innings. Lifetime versus
Washington, Chacon is 3-2 with one save and a 4.30 ERA over 11 appearances.
