Sad stuff for a former great Nat.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Thursday that Willie Harris’s wife went into premature labor and lost the baby.

Horrible news. Harris caught a flight to New York late Wednesday to be with his wife and was placed on the paternity leave list. Baseball seems rather insignificant at times like this, but he could rejoin the Mets as soon as Friday. Fernando Martinez was called up from the minors to temporarily replace him on the active roster.

I just read this myself.  It's always sad to lose a child.  Even in Child birth.  My sincere condolences.

Ugh.  I've known two people who have lost children early on in pregnancy.  Tough times indeed.

Just talked to Mrs PA -she explained that sometimes early labor cannot be stopped and also that sometimes even a 4 months premature baby can make it. This is just tragic
