How long have we had to put up with crap like that over the last few years?

It's funny. We've always thought things would get better... and say things like PC just said... but they don't seem to get better.

Chief, don't hate on me... but Livo hasn't looked good in a while.

If by "a while" you mean his last 3 starts, then sure that's reasonable.  If you mean the 10 starts before that where he had a 3.00 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP, then I'd call you a hater.

This team is in really bad shape if we have to depend on Livo to be anything more than a #5 next year.  Livo is reverting back to Livo, and next year we probably don't get the unusual first half from him.

I'd say the entire second half, to be honest.

I guess that's my biggest complaint about WNFF. If you aren't thrilled by how a player is playing, you're a hater.

Not speaking about you Chief, just in general on this site.

I'd say the entire second half, to be honest.

Then I'd say maybe you had unreasonable expectations of the role he's supposed to be in.  Out of 10 second-half starts not counting today, he's had (by my judgment) 5 good, 4 bad, and 1 acceptable (6.1, 3 ER).

So again, I guess it revolves around your definition of "good" and what you were expecting from a ~40+(?) year-old junkballer.  Unless you weren't watching you should already know that some of his bad starts were bad enough to make his overall numbers look worse than his game-by-game performance has actually been.  I don't think there's a soul on this site who didn't know he was playing out of his mind for a lot of the first half.

Come on Linty you know people are going to have favorites and protect them when criticized

Livan is hardly a problem. The Starting pitching is not a huge problem. Because of past issues, the fans are always going to blame the pitching. This team can't win with this joke of a lineup. At what point does the Nyjer Morgan experiment end? I don't get it. Elijah Dukes has less issues last year, plays a lot better and gets jerked around. Morgan plays horrific, has some issues, continues to play every day. This team doesn't make sense.

The fact that we can't touch a career minor league bum yesterday, and an old never-was knuckleballer today, is really unnerving.

I'm not impartial of course but I don't really think I have "favorites" so much as I simply stick up for guys who I feel like are getting an undeservedly bum rap.

I guess I just don't understand the mentality that if a guy comes in and gives you a surprisingly decent season that you write him off as a bum just because he faltered at the finish line (likewise not pointing at you Linty, just generalizing)

Guzman was one of your favorites. At least no one here sticks up for Nieves. Every other player has someone to defend him.

Nice.  Finally have a catcher that can hit for extra bases.

Some of it is vomit inducing though.
