When was the radio show? You have to believe something like that gets back to Dibble pretty ****ing fast. He's got his own national call-in show, and he's not exactly a huge name anymore. Someone like Girardi calling him out gets back fast. If you heard them today, I'll buy it hasn't gotten back to Dibble yet. Much longer than that, and I don't know...

Suddenly I find myself desperate for another conversation because I don't want to watch what's happening, instead of simply because I felt the outcome was already decided. Leave it to Lannan to ruin what was looking like a great night for the Nats.

Because Dibble goes on and on about it on Nats broadcasts, and apparently it's now gotten back to Girardi, who's pissed off since he's saying he sold the house four years ago? That Dibble just repeated it tonight after what Linty says Girardi said on the radio, I find that just... Well, it's certainly relevant to the Nats as long as Dibble keeps saying it at least twice a month that I recall.

Yes, I remember Dibble talking about it before on the broadcast. All I can say is it's fascinating, since we know nothing about the behind the scenes stuff. That Dibble said it again tonight after Girardi called him out is definitely interesting, but I'll give Dibble a very generous benefit of the doubt for the job he's done in the booth and leave it at that.

because even with Dunn in the lineup and leading the team in every offensive category, the pitching still sucks.

No.  The team's only been in Washington for 5 years and the pitching staff (starters and bullpen) has changed almost entirely every year.

We should have ONE pitcher to stay with the team for five years!

That's mostly because we've been forced to watch shat (the likes of Simontachi, Hinckley, Atilano, Tavarez) take the mound on a regular basis. And crap doesn't get any better.

I'll agree, this starting rotation has changed an obscene amount on a year to year basis. But I would say we are correcting this. You've now got Zimmermann and Strasburg near guarantees for the next few years. I still believe Maya is going to be a third we can add to that at the end of the season.

But yeah, anyone looking for a jarring shock, look at a list of starting pitchers over the past five years. The number of different ones we've had, and how forgetable 90% of their names are (IE not with the team for more than a couple months) is eyebrow raising to say the least, and certainly a prime reason for our failures. That Lannan is one of the longest tenured, well, again, says a lot about the team. Blame it on Bowden.
