Offensively, he's more or less the same hitter he was in 2010 except he has 27 year old power and not 25 year old. He's a case where reality has finally caught up with the projections for the body type. The other thing that is saving him is he's 1.5 - 2.0 WAR better on defense. he's gone from stone hands, scatter arm. botch the easy play, throw the ball away to a much more steady, better decision-maker with a strong and reasonably accurate arm. Having LaRoche at first helps, too, but defense at first doesn't matter.
