Another reason to balk at measuring guys by $/WAR. Adams is roughly a 1 WAR per 350 PA kind of guy, available for $4 million. Bryce is a 5 WAR guy, available for $35 million. Yet somehow they tell us the market rate is $9-10 million per win.

This goes along with my argument against Realmuto, whose value in prospects is being measure by that $9-10 million per win figure, even though alternatives are available for much less.

Anyways, good signing for me :)

Adams is streaky, but complements Zim.  I think this means Daniel Murphy is not in the plans.  But it also means that a bonafide second baseman will be on the way, with a bench of Kendrick, Difo, Adams, Taylor.

Gio?  No, because at this point he is a 5th starter on a competitive team.  This team needs a 4th starter (one who can be trusted in the post season).

I still have my 8 X 10 autographed color photo of Gio.    Keep hope alive.

We're in trouble...

Nice to have Adams back. Good rental trade last year.

From ESPN:

Quote
The only other team that owes is the Washington Nationals, who must pay $2,386,097, their second straight year with a bill.

Washington's rate rises to 50 percent on the first $20 million over, 62 percent on the next $20 million and 95 percent on any amount over $246 million.
