two years is perfect, by then Moore or Rendon should be ready to start in the infield (but I'd still prefer Morse)

Hope this works out and we get something decent for Morse.  He was a lot of fun to watch and root for.  I think he will have a great year heading into free agency.

I just downloaded Take On Me to my iTunes too, Son of a nag. So the deal seems to be whenever I get behind someone, they get traded. For that, my "fandom" is for sale. Whoever you guys want to see go away, just pay me a small fee (or throw me some Nats Schwag) and I will cheer relentlessly for that player. They will then get DFA'd, traded or something.

Would prefer Morse and am going to miss him but now we can trade him for hopefully an electric bullpen arm or high upside starting pitcher. A two year deal for LaRoche also gives the young guys time to develop (Moore,Rendon,Skole) and really gives us the best starting pitching/defense combo in the majors. Solid offseason.

Get ready for disappointment, the players we'll get will make H-Rod look like Billy Wagner.

I'm going to kinda miss the singalong with Morse's walkup music. LOL! I wish him well where
ever he winds up.

I think we will get a good return. Morse would make for a great AL player and I think the Red Sox, Mariners, and Orioles will all be in on him. The only concern with him is durability and his contract length(one year). We will see soon enough though.

I'm guessing a trade is announced very soon, to Tampa or NYY for prospects.

sigh.  Morse might not have been the best player on this team, but he was in many ways the heart of it.  I'm going to miss him.  That being said, I think keeping LaRoche for the next two years was the right move.

Maybe the biggest change in the last few years is how much people "want" to play for the Nats.

Yeah, I feel the same.  I was hoping they'd keep him around anyway, as he adds a lot of depth if laroche or any of the OFers went down.  But he'd probably rather play full time elsewhere.
