why Carrol for Church

Because Church theoretically "doesn't hit well against lefties."

"Doesn't hit well" means he only has a .304 average against them.  He tripled off of a lefty the other day.

But, more generally, the reason why is because we are now cursed.

I don't know what to say.  Was Nick Johnson that important to this team.  This was the worst baseball game ever played.  An embarassment.

were done season over boys we really needed this sweep I hate to say it because I am probably the biggest Nats fan on here but I know my baseball and you can consider it over...I thought the Preston trade would jumpstart us or even Guillen to get his as in gear but it has all back fired sorry to be so negative but we are done CONGRATS to the Braves for 14 in a row

I'm assuming FR pinch hit Carroll instead of Byrd because Carroll had to go into the game since Vidro got tossed.  What a huge backfire.  I want to vomit.

Why in God's name was Carroll sent up to pinch hit?  If you don't have faith in Church to come through against a lefty, then send in Byrd who can at least drive the ball.  Carroll is slap hitter.  Send in the CLOWNS!!!

By the way folks, this might sound silly coming from the guy who's probably been the most sarcastic and bitter out of all of us tonight...

...but really now, let's not panic.  Panic is for when we're 4 games back and have lost the Wild Card.  Panic is not for (at worst) .5 games in first place.  This is the time for being worried, wondering what the hell is wrong, screaming obscenities at Cristian Guzman, etc.  But not all-out "we're gonna die!  They're never gonna win another competitive game!" panic.  That's just destructive, right?

Now the question is, "is this rock bottom," or do we continue to sink?  Time for these guys to sack up and pull it together.  Make the basic plays.  Catch the ball.  Throw the ball.  Advance runners with bunts.  Pay attention on the base paths.

I have no intention of panicing until they are at least 10 games out... But let's face it, this team needs, not just new blood, but a new attitude. It's time for Jim to act big time

Lost in all this fury is the fact that our starting pitcher left the game after 2 innings because of dizzyness.  Did this night really happen?????
