Angels trade Vernon Wells to the Yankees. Pending physical. Yankees are responsible for $13M of the $42M owed for 2013/14 seasons. As far as I can tell the Angels receive nothing in return.

What was that Marlins blog we invaded a couple years ago? He posted something idiotic, Nats fans commented on his blog, and he went nuts and even did a blog post directed at Nats fans.

Yep, and the Tigers did the same with Dontrelle Willis. I think Halladay was 24 and Dontrelle 26. Romero's 28 which makes it a lot different IMO

if they want to change his delivery, aren't the coaches who are the most used to that (as opposed to tweaking) at that level? I've always heard a focus on instruction as being a reason for demoting a player to A ball as opposed to AAA

I would expect the Minor League Pitching Coordinator to be the lead. Dunedin is probably a better facility than Manchester (AA) or Buffalo (AAA). Weather is also a factor. It's really unusually to see a pitcher with his experience get a rebuild. Especially since he didn't have a funky delivery to begin with ala Dontrelle. I wonder why John Farrell didn't push for this yet Dirk Hayhurst did last year.

Johan Santana has re-torn his anterior capsule of the left shoulder. Same thing that caused him to miss 2011. Second surgery is a "strong possiblity." At 34 this is probably the end for him.

So basically, he lost a year to injury, came back, pitched a no-hitter, and then he's gone again.

Weird ending to a good career.
