Gameday Thread: Nationals vs Mets, Game 1 (L)
« Topic Start: April 11, 2006, 01:07:20 PM »
Home opener!! :D

I don't expect much discussion since a lot of you are probably AT the game.  I'm so jealous  :P

Ramon Ortiz (0-1, 7.56)

Ortiz (9-11, 5.36 ERA in 2005) will face the Mets for the fourth time in time in his career.  The Nationals are hoping that Ortiz, who is playing for his third team in three years, will be the quality pitcher that he was with the Angels back in 2002 when he won 15 games and had a 3.77 ERA.

Brian Bannister (0-0, 3.00)

Should we edit the 1st message to include the pre-game info?

I've seen 4 other Mets games this year, this is the 5th.  So far, in every game, there have horrible calls all favoring the Mets.  The calls have been so bad that if I didn't know better, I would swear they were intentional.

As much money as they spend on crappy teams, it wouldn't surprise me if they tipped a few of the umps as well

at least we average about 6 visits to the mound a game by randy st claire. of course it would be nice if the pitchers had an idea how to pitch to the opponents before the game

What the heck was that all about?  Trying to finese against one of the most over-rated guys in the game?  Geez, pitch to the SOB.
