Dibble thinks you can never throw too many strikes, Ray disagrees.  Plus the thing that Linty said.

I just started laughing when they started listing their accomplishments.

Also loved Ray saying his spiel, and then under his breath saying "and, I'm right".

I would agree with Dibble.

Honestly, I think both answers can be right, depending on what kind of pitcher you are.

I understand what Ray is saying... you want to throw some junk, or the rising fastball like Clippard throws because they look good, but are unhittable.... but, seeing as even the best MLB hitters only hit .300, I like my odds if I keep throwing strikes and make the hitters put it in play.

Willie Harris wasn't going to get a hit or even make contact, Riggleman.  >:(

I'm burning mad over that call at the plate.  That and the bats going dead again cost us the game.  >:(

Strasburg did what he had to do to keep his team in the game.

I never knew about the rule that you're out if the ball hits the bat twice on a bunt.

Strasburg changeups to the ass for everyone in the lineup.

It doesn't have to be a bunt. It can be on a regular swing too but only if the ball is in the field of play.

Attendance for Strasmas start #4 at 4:35 PM Wed June 23, 2010: 31,913, a drop of over 8.400 from his last start.

The Nationals were still pushing their package deals on their site, implying that the game was a sellout, when the single game ticket section showed tickets available in MOST areas of Nationals Park.

I'm guessing it'd have been close to a sellout if it was a night game.

Our soccer team outscored the nats. I've attended 18 innings in five days with no runs scored for the home team. Sigh.

It was a day game, against the Royals, in this oppressive heat!  31,913 in those conditions is better than a sellout!

AP and MLB Network are really ticked about that blown call at home.

This from the AP:
Quote
In the sixth, plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt ruled Roger Bernadina's sliding foot didn't beat the throw home from right fielder Guillen on a single by Adam Dunn. The entire ballpark was stunned, and the replays weren't needed to back up the Nationals' case.

Only because it was the difference between a no decision and Strasburg's first loss.  Any other game and you know no one would have even noticed.

So is Wendelstedt looking for a job as a World Cup ref?

I knew Hunter Wendelstedt was going to freak us this series. Called it in game one.
