Homesick Americans can actually get that on draught here in London, at the Maple Leaf pub in Maiden lane (tube: Covent Garden). It's a pub with a Canadian theme but not much else (only real Canadian they have is Moosehead in bottles, nothing on draught; they have ads for Sleeman's but I didn't see any round there).

I have been there! On Canada Day, 2011, the Canadians took over Trafalgar Square for festivities, including a hockey rink, a charity basketball game, Mounties, and copious amounts of Sleeman's. Then we all adjourned to the Maple Leaf pub for afters. Fun place, in the context of Canada Day festivities, although perhaps not every day. Something wonderful about the idea of a pub for Canadian exiles.

To give you an idea, here's a picture of the Canada Day party...

Dear Mr Terp Sir,

Words do not exist that could possibly describe the AWESOMENESS  of DC Brau's Bete Noir at Rustico tonight.  I owe you and I want you remind me of this at every opportunity (or at least when you see 2IPAs and I at the Red Porch this season).

Accidentally found myself in Rustico last weekend where they were offering DC Brau's "Bête Noire", a baltic porter, described thusly:

This beer I sampled well.

That picture brought back a lot of fond memories.    It wasn't Canada Day but man I loved that square.

Trafalgar Square is truly the right time, anytime (just came back from there).

My wonderful wife (her being a Packer fan is excused for the time being) brought home some Shiner Bock.

It doesn't exactly grow on trees here in suburban Richmond...
