Reyes's contract matches up well with what remains of Crawford's.  With Ramirez, Boston would have to take on a lot more costs.  Thus, Heath Bell enters the talk. The problem is that this probably puts them over the lux tax threshold short term while they work off the extra poundage AAV.  The Red Sox have a few expensive pitcher who could benefit from a change of scenery.  You wonder if some of them might go south, along with prospect types, and see a cheaper SP come back along with Hanley.

Rosenthal says the cubs have a AAA pitcher on standby to pitch for Dempster tomorrow, it looks like he's going to the Dodgers.

Anibal Sanchez for Heath Bell.

The way this works is, the Braves acquire Anibal Sanchez. In return, the Braves also acquire Heath Bell.

You remind me of Carson Cistulli in some ways (I mean that in a good way ;) )

Regarding That Post, Whether I Will Take It as a Compliment

The possibility must be taken into consideration.

I'm sure other team's fans said that about Hanrahan/milledge for Morgan/Burnett

They did... well, DFA'd him... so instead of having him become a FA, and risk not signing him, the Rockies just traded for him instead.

I think this is a nice trade for KC. Colorado's giving up.

Dang.  How much to bid on Brandon Lyon when he is a FA in my league?  I need the saves.  I guess see if he displaces Janssen or whoever is closing up in Toronto then bid a ton for a worthless piece of drivel.

The #RedSox and #Marlins discussing blockbuster: Carl Crawford and prospect to Miami for Hanley Ramirez and Heath Bell. #MLB

Interesting if true. Would also lend credence to the idea that the Marlins are punting the season

Getting Nats Killer Ramirez out of the National League altogether? Get 'er done!

---

The one that's got me working overtime on the Scotch shooters: the Braves getting Dempster or Greinke. If either of those go down we're scuppered.
