Doug Davis; 10-10, 4.95 ERA.......Michael O'Connor; 3-7, 4.83 ERA

Quote
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Waiting in Alfonso Soriano's locker after Saturday night's game was the final piece of what is surely going to be an impressive display: the stolen base that entered him into the elite 40-40 club.

Soriano became the fourth player in major league history to record 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a single season when he swiped second in the first inning of the Washington Nationals' 8-5 win over Milwaukee. Soriano has 40 steals to go along with 45 home runs.

Soriano is going to add the base and the spikes he was wearing to his personal collection, which includes the bat and batting gloves he used when he hit his 40th home run Aug. 19.

"I'm going to show them to my son and my grandson," said Soriano, whose jersey will go to the Hall of Fame.

Today the Brewers will rely on starter Doug Davis.  Davis was tagged with the loss in his last outing, a 4-3 loss at Pittsburgh on Sept. 11. He allowed four runs on six hits in six innings. He gave up four costly walks and hit a batter in the game.

Pitching coach Randy St. Claire said left-hander O'Connor will pitch against the Brewers instead of Billy Traber. O'Connor has been pitching well since being activated from the disabled list, giving up one run in his last seven innings. The team has decided that Traber and Jason Bergmann will work out of the bullpen. Both pitchers have been struggling lately.

Interesting Lineup.  Vidro plays first? Castro batting 2nd and Lopez batting 3rd.

It's amazing that the Brewers weren't going to start Hall, then he goes and hits 31 HRs and counting.

That's a lot of pitches for not giving up a run.

I guess he's referring to him pitching to Graffanino.
