It's also silly to judge a team's drafting based on how individual picks turn out. Kobernus may not pan out - just like probably 45 or more of the 51 players we drafted last year won't pan out. The best thing a team can do is have good scouts/analysts, good player development in the minor leagues, and spend money to sign guys who are premium for the round in which they're drafted.

Long term, that's a successful strategy.

But if Jeff Kobernus doesn't pan out, that's just the odds of the draft.

And other times, a guy like Justin Bloxom will become a prospect despite getting drafted in the 11th round...who knows?
