Arguably as bad - our line-up for the 2009 season finale - and they actually WON!

1 Maxwell CF
2 Desmond SS
3 Orr 3B
4 Dukes RF
5 Morse 1B
6 Bard C
7 Gonzalez 2B
8 Padilla LF
9 Martin P

[also check out full box-score http://espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=291004115 for all the future Hall-of-Famers who subbed that day]

Utterly shocked that Tyler Clippard pitched for us all the way back then.  He's often forgotten when it comes to the Nationals who suffered through the dark ages.

Also see Kris Medlen mentioned as well.  We got a hit off of him!

How is it we did not get fined for failing to put out a major league line up on Strastank Day?

We'd be having arguments about Dustin Ackley's range and batting average . . .

I have not seen a line up as bad as Strastank Day since I watched the Red Sox this week 3 times on national TV.

Ugh. That's so ugly. :spaz:

Jorge Padilla.

2009 was the year we saw 5 different starting catchers.
Five starting catchers, you say that like it's meaningful...

I bring you  the 98 Win, 2012 Washington Nationals - the year that saw 6 starting catchers.
Ramos, Flores, Maldonado, Leon, Solano, and Kurt Suzuki.

To be fair, we would have only seen Ramos and Flores had Ramos not torn his ACL.  We had six catchers due to the injury of Ramos.  We had five catchers just due to their utter crapeness in 2009.

...and that was (28th September 2008 at Philadelphia, 8-3 loss):

1 Bonifacio 2B
2 Hernandez SS
3 Casto 1B
4 Langerhans RF
5 Gonzalez 3B
6 Bernadina CF
7 Montz C
8 Orr LF
9 Perez P

And the really horrifying part of all that is that even then Bonifacio was clearly the best guy in that lineup and that was back BEFORE he turned into a major-league regular.

Ryan Langerhans.  Cleanup.  CLEANUP!

(and not as in "Ryan Langerhans, cleanup on aisle 6.")
