Calsgr8's water polo boys are on

Is there a womens team?

There was in Beijing.  I'd imagine the still images of the competition will be more to your liking than what they'll be allowed to show on TV.

Water polo is huge in Eastern Europe because of the large number of hot springs - the thermal baths in Budapest, for isntance, will have lots of games going (Hungary has had numerous medalists in the sport).

Try youtube.  Seriously.  they're streaming everything live.  If not, I'm sure NBC will feature it on primetime.

NBC really is taking a lot of heat for their coverage of these games...

The Jubilee line is like something out of the Jetsons. Hands down the finest subway I've ever been on.

That's the 'new' portion of the line from Westminster on east to Canary Wharf, North Greenwich (the O2) and Stratford, opened 1999 - makes for much easier north-south travel to the Houses of Parliament area (prior to that you had to take the Bakerloo or Northern to Embankment, or the Victoria line to Victoria, and then take the Circle/District line)...also the first fuly wheelchair-friendly sector of the system.

The original didn't open till 1979 (it was supposed to have opened in 1977, the year of the Silver Jubilee, hence the name - in fact 1977 was the year of the first of my 24 trips there to date).

It Sucks that you cant compete in the all around because of a dumb rule.

Any athlete attempting to qualify for the all-around must perform on each apparatus (four for women, six for men). If a gymnast's final score is among the top 24, he or she qualifies for the all-around final, unless two teammates are higher ranked.

This is why one of our finest gymnasts cannot qualify for the all around!

Must have been in the qualifier - they kept saying that she hadn't missed a shot but I only watched the finals. Still, she is one hell of a shot.

Remember watching Jordan Larson and Destiny Hooker matchup in college.  Those were some of the best volleyball matches I've ever seen.  Weird to see them as teammates.   Larson was on fire in game 1.

Destiny Hooker?  In college?  Was that to help her get through school?
