Trivia question on Chuck Hinton:

1. What side business did he have during his Senator playing days?
2. What were the two products  (constantly advertised over the radio, as well as via airplanes over DC stadium)?

I think that he endorsed a car insurance company at one time.

Excellent!

It was the "Chuck Hinton Insurance Company"  so I always assumed he owned it, not just endorsed it, but perhaps he was just a front.

The two products were "SR22" and "JR11"  (or was it "JR22" and "SR11"?) Neither I nor any of my friends knew what either meant, but they were blasted over the radio constantly.

Yea I remember that.  It was like the Senate Insurance Company of today.  They would take anyone.

Funny how you remember one play like it was yesterday.  They had just brought him up from Chatanooga or maybe Rocky Mount (or was he from Rocky Mount?) and on a very cold April afternoon he hit a line drive into the left field bleachers at Griffith Stadium and the ball hit a railing and bounced all the way back to the infield.

SR22 is that crap you are forced to get when you don't make your insurance payments on time and let your coverage lapse.

I think it was back then when Chuck was the insurance man.
