In theory couldn't we just purposefully not sign anyone after round 30 and use all that money on draftees we actually care about.
There's not a lot of bonus money spent after the first 30 rounds. Heck, it's unusual for someone in the 20s to get big money. To be sure, it does happen. But most of the money is spent early. I'd bet 95% of the money is spent on the first 10 rounds.
