Spent $300 on Amazon for DVDs.
I think retailers might find they shot themselves in the foot this year. Every year I'd go out for a haul of DVDs. This year I didn't even glance at any ads. Two reasons, first knowing Amazon will match. But this Thanksgiving crap? No thanks. Less than zero interest going out to shop on Thanksgiving. Then there's the notion of all these different times and deals. I go out early Friday to get sales, fine.
But opening thanksgiving, then friday, different items on sale at different times? Feeling like unless I go out on Thanksgiving I miss the best deals? Simply not interested in any of that BS.
Then to read a few minutes ago a CEO saying 'our customers demand to shop Thursday!'? Uhh... I don't buy that for a second. A handful of idiots? Maybe. But it has zero to do with consumer interest and solely on squeezing every second of shopping they can get over the weekend. And since surely I'm not the only one not going out at 8pm Thanksgiving and so end up saying screw it on friday, hopefully the retailers have a stroke when sales data comes in.
