« Topic Start: November 20, 2012, 02:42:53 PM »
Post deals here if you see good ones.  I'm looking for any discounts on Nats merchandise, i want to get playoff gear for the kids.

New Hampshire State Liquor stores are notorious for low prices.  I'm inspired to hit one because I'll miss the VaABC deals.

I buy all my liquor in MontCo, it's quite a bit cheaper than the Va communist stores.

I haven't seen any specific Black Friday deals but there have been a lot of general discounts through the national site lately.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia's Alcoholic Beverage Control stores are getting in on the Black Friday tradition with extended hours and discounted prices.

Officials say the state's nearly 340 stores will offer discounts up to 50 percent off, or more, on selected items. Shoppers also will get 10 percent off any purchase totaling more than $50.

Discounts will apply to everything from miniature bottles to top-shelf specialty items. Stores also will stock gift packages for a variety of liquor brands.

Most of the ABC stores will open at 9 a.m. on Friday, while some others in Williamsburg, Richmond and northern Virginia are set to open at 7 a.m.

Officials say the early morning specials will remain in effect at all stores until 3 p.m. Friday.

Gotcha... lol

On a more related topic the physical Nats stores are running big Black Friday deals but it looks like you can only get them if you go to the store.

I still haven't seen anything from the Nats store.  Most of the electronics places have discount TVs, 32" for under $200 (Walmart, HH Gregg, etc.)

Kmart ad shows 46" RCA for $299 and a 50" Pros can for $288.  No idea how good they are as a brand, though.

So. You're not getting one of those 40" tvs from Best Buy without a door buster ticket. Found that out the hard way when the kid in the store laughed at me for asking for one without the ticket.

They price match now, so any trip there will probably be miserable with multiple people in line fighting over prices

Spent $300 on Amazon for DVDs.

I think retailers might find they shot themselves in the foot this year. Every year I'd go out for a haul of DVDs. This year I didn't even glance at any ads. Two reasons, first knowing Amazon will match. But this Thanksgiving crap? No thanks. Less than zero interest going out to shop on Thanksgiving. Then there's the notion of all these different times and deals. I go out early Friday to get sales, fine.

But opening thanksgiving, then friday, different items on sale at different times? Feeling like unless I go out on Thanksgiving I miss the best deals? Simply not interested in any of that BS.

Then to read a few minutes ago a CEO saying 'our customers demand to shop Thursday!'? Uhh... I don't buy that for a second. A handful of idiots? Maybe. But it has zero to do with consumer interest and solely on squeezing every second of shopping they can get over the weekend. And since surely I'm not the only one not going out at 8pm Thanksgiving and so end up saying screw it on friday, hopefully the retailers have a stroke when sales data comes in.
