BJ Upton really?

You want to get rid of Espinosa and you actually find a guy who hits for a worse AVG and posts a worse OBP to replace him?

Bro you are hammered.

Espinosa has low value. His best traits (defense, walks, team friendly contract) aren't as valued in the market.

Espi will be a fine utility infielder/pinch-hitter.

the dbags don't want him anymore.  let's trade for him.

find a new 2B and LF for sure.

I don't want to get rid of Espinosa

Trade Morse, who has struggled to stay healthy his whole career. Try and get a pitcher to replace Jackson. Sign BJ Upton to play CF. His bat will replace Morse's and his defense is miles ahead of Morse. Werth slides over to LF, giving us a much better outfield defensively. In addition, we now have three arms in the outfield that will make baserunners hesitant to try for an extra base.

Espinosa can stay. Largely because he plays really good defense. However, if there's no improvement by the All Star Break, we have to seriously consider platooning him and Lombo.

I don't know what kind of pitcher we could get, but I think Seattle would be good place to start. They have lots of pitching prospects and need offense.

I wonder if the Astros would consider giving up Altuve for Espinosa, Rendon, and Morse/Moore

((Mostly kidding but I'd love to see Altuve in a Nats uni))

Go get Greinke, Hamilton and a 2B that can play.  Don't be cheap in the offseason like usual.

Your heart's in the right place, I don't agree with your choice in players.

1.  Trade morse for an A's pitcher (preferably anderson).
2.  Sign melky to a 1 year deal, heavy on the incentives
3.  Let laroche and edwin walk, pocketing draft picks in the process
4.  sign/trade for a power lefty bullpen arm
5.  Let Moore play first or sign Jose Dariel abreu if he defects.

My thoughts exactly...one addition...keep Adam, within reason.  I'd take Bourn for CF as well.

I don't want Hamilton anywhere near this roster. He shut down on the Rangers like a nag.

Pass on Hamilton and Bourn. Hamilton is a mess. Bourn is on the wrong side of 30 and his legs are already starting to fade. Speed is too much of his game. We'd basically get an Aaron Rowand.

1) Morse - Rays can always use a cheap DH or 1b, and he can basically platoon with Scott or both can play.
2) No.
3) You have to offer ALR and Edwin 1 year, $13MM to get a pick back.  worth the gamble.
4) Maybe sign a starter and convert Det to that lefty arm.  Alternatively, see if the ChiSox want to get out of the Thornton :az: contract.
5) Moore and Espinosa have trade value (sorry, GMU, but you are way off on this one; first you dismiss the power - the .400 SLG is middle of the pack among 2B and top 10 among SS; the glove is what people look for in MIs and he's elite; and the cost for the next year or two makes him a steal.  I don't even have to use fWAR for this, and you know how that comes out).  Moore or Morse plus espinosa gives you a quality player to fill one gap.

I will :hang: if we spend money on Bourn. What a waste that would be.

Melky would be a great LF for next season.  And Brett Anderson :az: would be awesome.  the A's could use some help on the left side of their infield so espi could be included in the deal.

The reports are that Melky will probably have to settle for a low cost, one year deal this year to show that he has moved on from steroids. It'd be a low risk/high reward signing.

I  don't know where you are getting this.  I didn't hear anything negative about his personality.  I could be wrong though.

Melky Cabrera
Brett Anderson
A couple of good relievers.

That is the least the Lerners could do after this pitiful postseason.  Make the deals!  :whip:

What if Melky totally sucks now that he's off the juice?

I don't see any chance on God's Green Planet Earth that Melky comes here
