Saving copy of a Private Message (PM)

Every single time you send a Private Message (PM) on here, you have to click on:
Save a copy in my outbox.

Is there a way to make that a default, as in most email systems?  Most of the time I forget to click on it, and lose track of what I wrote and who I sent it to.

My Messages > Preferences > Change Settings > Check the box "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default."

I can provide some screencaps if you're unable to find the settings.
