Rizzo should be fired for his bench construction.  Xavier Nady?  Really Rizzo???  No one else wanted him and now he's batting .143 in the minors!

DeRosa isn't much better.

You've gotta admit that that Saturday Rockies game right before the break was the shiznit

As someone who's been to a lot of ballgames recently I cannot subscribe to that theory.

'This Nationals broadcast was brought to you by CDW-G...[emphasis added]'

...this during the 7th inning stretch...hope that doesn't come back to bite us.

Strasburg out for the sixth. Davey lets him pitch more than Gio and Jordan.

Just noticed that Lombo is out-hitting Reyes. Certainly glad that Rizzo ignored my advice to sign Reyes and dump Desmond.

I still can't believe this team is 50-35, in first place in the NL East, has Bryce Harper playing CF and Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez and Jordan Zimmermann all pitching phenomenally. The last few years have been terrible, but damn if this team isn't awesome.

Wat

I could be mindfacting, but it sure seems to me like Davey lets Strasburg go more than Gio or Zimmermann. It was more evident earlier in the season, but I think he quick hooks the other guys a lot more than Strasburg when they've pitched almost as well or better in some ways. Which is no big deal because he's the ace, but he's also the guy with an innings limit and in his first year back from Tommy John blah blah blah.

Call it half a deal. So far, I'm leased with Desmond over Reyes.

Reyes has a lot more than one year on his contract.

Hard to tell. Gut feel (aka "mindfact") doesn't give me a sense of much difference. Even if we count the innings, we'd need to check the pitches and situation, plus the state of the bullpen.

Desmond is a little younger and seems to being improving. So far, I'm happy with Desmond, Espinosa, and Lombo. Just surprising that Lombo is hitting for a slightly higher average than Reyes.

HRod evaporates. Mattheus and Mike much more useful than HRod.
