Belliard leading off? ugh.

Figures, just when Hernadez broke out of his slump...

Nationals:
Belliard 2B
Johnson 1B
Zimmerman 3B
Dunn LF
Dukes CF
Kearns RF
Flores C
Gonzalez SS
Lannan P

Belliard leading off tells you all you need to know about the 2009 ashington Nationals.  Why not just let Lannan lead off?

I'll take it over Hernandez.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  You'd lead off Fat Ronny over Hernandez?

Belliard as lead off? Are you freaking kidding me? The only thing this team needs now is clown shoes and the transformation will be complete.

I'm just not excited. I don't think I'll even tune in tonight. And that goofy picture of Hamels makes me want to punch him in the face.
Lannan on the other hand seems to have an expression on his face that says: "I am releasing my bowels at this exact moment".

Really? What about Hernandez's .300 career OBP screams lead off hitter to you?

Just tell Belliard there is a burger and a 40oz. under first base. He'll get there.

NOTLD's blog (The Nationals Inquisition) just got a plug on NatsXtra. They read part of his piece and Ray Knight agreed that his take was on the money.

This is the excerpt they read:

Quote
Fearing the outcome rather than concentrating on the present situation, fearing batters, fearing the park, just having “the fear” says this guy doesn’t have the guts to be a Major League pitcher let alone the most nerve-wrecking of all positions in the bullpen.

Yeah. Just rewind the show a few minutes and you'll see where they read 3 quotes from blogs and NOTLD's was the second one they read. That was a nice plug for him. They even put up his website address.

exactly. you guys act like Hernandez was lighting it up batting lead-off. Ronnie isn't an ideal lead-off hitter, but he is one of the most solid and reliable bats on this ball club.

that's nice. his blog offers a unique perspective. it's not the same old rehashed crap that you get at most blogs.

i'll probably pass on the gameday thread tonight.  i watched the game from my sunroom/back porch and while it became a fun routine of running to my room and typing on the computer: HOME RUN NATS!

not tonight, maybe i'll bring good luck.  probably not, though as somebody in our pen or manny acta will blow it.

No crap? Wow. I'm actually speechless.

The blog was created with hope people would just get drunk, have a good time, and read the blog. I guess we know how Ray Knight spends his nights.

Thanks, Ray.

EDIT: Anyone know how I could get a video of it?

RZ ties the franchise record for hitting streak!  To bad Dunn couldn't do anything.
