got to be impressed with Lavelle this inning - got Chipper (great play by Zimm) and struck out Andruw with runner in scoring position. Nice

If only 1 of the bottom 3 could've got a hit, we wouldn't have the pitcher leading off.

Ya, Zimmerman saved a run right there. It's almost a given every night he's going to make an exciting play with his glove.

We need better at bats from our 1-5 slots because from 6-9 it's basically automatic outs.

33 pitches through 3 innings.. Nats sucking at the plate again.  No matter which pitcher they face, they are consistently awful.

Can he go ONE inning without allowing a baserunner?

Oh well, at least he hasn't allowed a run...yet.

And another run scores... Speigner is a major joke.  I just do not get what Bowden sees in him.  He had a good ST and then he has sucked up here.  Josh Wilson did the same thing and he got demoted.  Let's hope the same thing happens to Speigner.

Make that 3, brilliant idea to convert this bum into a starter.

It could get ugly here, if he doesn't get Harris out.

game set match... After beating John Smoltz on Monday, we now have to win tomorrow just to salvage a split.

Now i feel bad for the defense and hitters tonight. Knowing that your manager basically is conceding todays game by sending out this sorry excuse for a starter, can't be too motivating.

The injuries to Hill and JP crippled us (particularly Hill).  Hill should have been pitching tonight.  Hill will give you a good chance to win every game; he never gets rocked.  Having to start bums like Jerome, Speigner and Bowie (On Sunday; he's a good reliever but not an ideal starter) is just devastating.  At this point, our only starters that I count on to give us a chance to win are Bergmann and Simontacchi.

Last Play: K. Johnson safe at first on first baseman R. Fick's fielding error, W. Harris to third

Kill yourself Fick.
