I do hope he ends up being better than Soto.

Lo Duca seems to genuinely want Flores to do well. I'm sure he wants to be a starter, but I think he knows it'll probably have to be somewhere else.

Flores has always had the swagger that said he believed he was a major leaguer. His time in the minors may have made him even more focused on showing it, but more importantly, it may have kept him away from Lenny Harris. I think he is the only young hitter not doing what Lenny preaches. He'll go opposite field when the pitch is there, but basically, his bread and butter is to pull almost everything he can. Good to see.

I think he'll retire after seeing that in order to start regularly in the big leagues again, he'll have to go through either getting traded or being signed in the offseason. Either way, he'd have to move to yet another city, and considering he's only got a year or two left anyway, it might not be worth it for him.

I don't think it'd be too hard to trade him, though. Yes, we'd have to showcase him, but it'd be worth it for what we could get in return. A good contact hitting catcher is still a rarity.
