Can we just clone Flores and use him for the 1-8 spots in the order?

Ok sportsfan.

By the way, I think Estes Kefauver could outpitch him.

Fine. No more Estes Kefauver jokes for you. Low brow poop jokes only.

The fact that Flores did that on a two strike pitch says a lot about him. That dude's impressed the hell out of me this season.

You see, the difference between me and Sportsfan is I might actually have jumped into the tub with my labtop still plugged in.

Flores > Soto. Just admit it, Ronnynat.

Man it's gotta be awkward for Lo Duca to talk about Flores. It's like Holliday is rubbing it in.

Nice K. I agree with Paul. This is an important half inning.

Padres skipper looked pissed on the GS. Shaking his head slightly in disbelief.

I do hope he ends up being better than Soto.

Lo Duca seems to genuinely want Flores to do well. I'm sure he wants to be a starter, but I think he knows it'll probably have to be somewhere else.

Another nice K. Great inning, OP. Khalil Greene has 52 Ks in 199 ABs this season.

Perez is looking good now that he doesn't have to worry about allowing a single run.

Flores has always had the swagger that said he believed he was a major leaguer. His time in the minors may have made him even more focused on showing it, but more importantly, it may have kept him away from Lenny Harris. I think he is the only young hitter not doing what Lenny preaches. He'll go opposite field when the pitch is there, but basically, his bread and butter is to pull almost everything he can. Good to see.

Ironic because that was the exact thing I was thinking when I said, "That'll do, Jesus, that'll do."

I think he'll retire after seeing that in order to start regularly in the big leagues again, he'll have to go through either getting traded or being signed in the offseason.  Either way, he'd have to move to yet another city, and considering he's only got a year or two left anyway, it might not be worth it for him.

I could see him getting into coaching if he wanted to, just a feeling.

I agree with whoever said earlier that Lopez' problems off the field are affecting his play on the field once again unfortunately.

Nice hit CG.

I don't think it'd be too hard to trade him, though. Yes, we'd have to showcase him, but it'd be worth it for what we could get in return. A good contact hitting catcher is still a rarity.
