Yeah, upon further review I think Bob and FP were correct, it first glanced off the back of his hand, before hitting the bat.

I don't understand why homeplate umps hog calls like that.

Other things that annoy me are when umpires don't confer on whether batted balls hit the batters (resulting in foul ball) and whether go around on check swings. Home plate umpires don't have great angles for those calls and some are way too liberal making the calls themselves.

i was just saying i was fuming about that non-strike call. it could be 2-0.

but then again our bats are freakin not clutch. blame the player and blame the hitting coach who helps them in these type situations.

Yeah on the replay I couldn't really see it hitting anything, but the sound sure sounded like it hit the bat to me.
