It's pretty sad when you enjoy the team's off days more than you do the game days.

I'll be at the 9:30 club tonite, so a rainout wouldn't bother me.

Morning TV news had a note that he was "out indefinately" haven't seen nor heard that anywhere else yet.

Opening night, of course the rain will stop, but it's gonna be a cold damp evening for us folks in the stands.

Go Nats!!!

Think so?  It's been just barely drizzling since yesterday, I haven't seen a shower yet that would halt play.  They are calling for showers later today, so it could worsen, but I'd bet the game goes off on time.

This is what I don't understand about the schedule. Why have Tuesday off? Why not Thursday which is a travel day? It makes no sense to me.

I'm in Arlington, drove through some showers. Hard to tell how hard it's raining currently from my window. I'd defer to someone who's downtown.

Accuweather says it's going to rain most of the afternoon with a couple breaks.

It is common to have the day after the opener as a day off so that it can be used as the alternative date for the opener.

Neither the Marlin or Brave series were scheduled that way. But you are right, that used to be the common practice.

No need. Salt cleans out the pores and I wear Kramer's Beach Cologne anyways.

Yeah, I found that odd that the Marlins series was like that. But it may have been a choice based upon it being in Florida, and the fact that they knew they wouldn't come close to a sell out. The Braves/Phillies series did have the day off after the opener. It may be that certain cities base it on likelihood of weather issues.

There hasn't been any weather yet that would stop a major league game. Unless it gets worse, they'll play. Attendance is going to be crap tonight regardless though what with the state of the team, the loss of opening day's luster, the weather, and the Caps game.

Yeah, there shouldn't be anyone there at all tonight. Everyone (including me) is going to be fixated on the caps game.

OK, I'm a couple days late on this, but only discovered this forum on a fluke yesterday.  This is in reply to the posts from Game 1 (the last page of the forum):
"One of the "fan of the game" candidates was in the group sitting behind me. 25-30 year old female with huge knockers. A gap-toothed kid beat her out for "fan of the game". she was hot as crap though."

Ummm, that would be me.  Thanks....you guys are funny.
