Why did the Redskins not sign Eric Winston.

Let's see ... good RT who can shift to LT if needed? Yes, we need that.
Understands the ZBS? Oh yea, he's been doing it since he came in the league
In his prime? Yup ... 28 years old

But thank God we got Garcon ...

Was Winston cut before or after Garcon?
Did we not get smacked with half our cap coming off?
Is Winston making more than 2.1 mil this year?

Armchair GM's, gotta love them.

Some people loved Eischen for whatever reason. What's funny is that Matt LeCroy actually became a coach.

I loved Eischen, but he's the last guy I'd want as a coach.  I might hire him as a hitman or something.

It's just nostalgia. Let's not forget Willie Harris. That's about a dozen names we've come up with already. Eischen was intense though.

Yes it is, although it would be absolutely hilarious if they didn't.
Maybe he took tips from those creepy guys that teach nerds how to trick women into liking them and wantgs to psych out the colts.

Yes
Didn't seem to stop them from spending a crap ton of money on Garcon
I'm pretty sure the Skins could make his cap hit whatever it needed to be

Bottom line is that the Redskins needed Winston more than they needed Garcon. In fact, offensive line is probably the most critical need on the team after QB.

Did you see us  starting non-drafted free agents at the most important position on the offensive line?

Not saying we shouldn't be perusing receivers, but they've done nothing to bolster an offensive line that is injury/suspension prone.

I'm hoping they can find someone in the third round since zone blocking type linemen slip

Oh no doubt. But I would prefer to fill as many holes as possible and not have to rely on 4th and 5th round rookies to have to be depended on as starters.

Hankerson is a stud.
We hope.

Excellent recall coladar. I knew there were more that I had forgotten. Both of those were suggested as hitting coaches.  :lmao:

Funny thing is Castilla ends up being a coach very shortly after retirement... Just not with us.

Say what you want about Rexy's talent or lack there of, the guy sure seems like a team player. I think he'll be OK as a back up... just so long as it stays that way.

So it's official. RGIII will be the signal caller for Washington in 2012.

Unless of course the Colts draft him

Either way, whoever they draft will have to beat out the incumbent, Rex Grossman III.   :mg:

Dude, you get way more than the vet minimum. After all, Daddy has to make sure little Kyle has someone to play with during the game :)

It appears Grossman was also named after his father and grandfather so technically he was RGIII first.

From Wiki:    His father and grandfather were football players for Indiana University. His grandfather, Rex, also played for the Baltimore Colts (1948–1950) and Detroit Lions (1950), playing in 12 games during his career.[80] He resides in Bloomington, Indiana during the offseason with his wife Alison Miska, to whom he has been married since July 9, 2005.[81] Grossman also has a sister and nephew who live in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and his parents are friends with Archie Manning.[82]

Looks like they sucked at football as well.   It's a genetic disorder.
