You didn't know we were going to score, though.
if Morgan had helped them score it could have been a successful move but that didn't happen.

Keeping the other team scoreless in the top of the 9th was more important to me than having Morgan lead off the bottom of the 8th.

So much for pulling Dunn for defense.

Unfortunately that information was not available at the time to Riggleman.
you have to be able to see what is going to happen before it happens. that's the key to everything

Come on Kearns, 8 million should buy at least 1 walk-off hit

[SF] Teams would rather pitch to Zimmerman than Kearns [/SF]

another terrible blunder. Dunn actually looked good in the outfield today. he was running full out

Morgan gave us a good chance to score and Lannan was pretty much a sure out. That's all that mattered. Lannan couldn't have gone more than one more inning, so we needed to score ASAP.

KEARNS!!!!

This better not get him a start tomorrow, but I'm happy he made himself useful for something.

Brilliant managing by Riggleman.  All the moves led up to Morgan's bunt, moved to second, and the clutch Austin Kearns coming through, all according to Jim's plan.      :worship:

You know that he is going to stay on the roster just for that hit.

I agreed with the sac bunt by Harris but that's it.

good thing his managerial ineptness didn't cost us an embarrassing home series loss to the lowly Padres.

He's staying on the roster no matter what.  He's a "character guy", after all...

Kearns got the game winner but Morgans awesome base running really manufactured that win.

It's not like the team had any plans to take him off the roster.
