Moore may make us pine for Dunn's defense in left.

eh, i just haven't seen him too much out there.  the games that i have seen, he hasn't had much action out there.

Wow. I didn't think it was still possible to craft such a good Wang joke after all this time.

it needed "a" between "take" and "BJ" though.

Nah, I thought about it and left it out intentionally. I even debated not using "our Wang", trying to keep it as tied to and referencing the players as people as possible, instead of just going all out with the sexual innuendo and referring to BJ the act as "a BJ" instead of as a person. So it was intentional, although I considered writing it your way.

Whatever though, joke aside, I wouldn't mind seeing Wang as part of a deal for a BJ actually. Resolves both our offensive issues and our SP overload once he's healthy. Give him a few starts, let him be lights out, and trade him for offense.

We're not even top 10 in strike outs :) So much for MDS's belief that we would set the record

And I LOVE the whole Shawn Michaels/Sweet Chin Music references for the Chinless Wonder.

My second-favorite nickname after "K Street."

Speaking of K's - I really do feel like this team has a bit of a different approach - their ability to work a walk is much more (so far) than what it was in previous years, it seems to me [/mindfact].

I think the Red Sox would want him.  So might the Angels.  Maybe the D'backs too.

is there really not a bat on the market that we could pick up? it'd be one thing if we were hitting the ball hard but they just weren't falling, but a majority of the at bats this team is having are awful. Espinosa needs to get his head out of his ass and hit the ball with authority, Ramos needs to show why he's the catcher of the future, and we need Zim/Morse back as soon as possible. I can't call out Werth/LaRoche because they're actually producing. I also can't call out Nady, Bernadina, and Ankiel because they have no business being in the starting line up for a team that actually wants to make the playoffs. Even the 2010 Giants had more reliable bats than we do and that is really pathetic. I know it's "early" but somethings you can't overlook, we saw the bats struggle in spring training and they are continuing to struggle! When will Rizzo notice this and do something about it?

I thought the General we were discussing was the cartoon that does an insurance commercial with a penguin.  Now that is an offense.

Best bat I think that is easily available is Bobby Abreu (still), who could play left.  Maybe Gorzo would be enough, or Gorzo and Ryan Perry.  Angels are lefty challenged in the pen behind Downs, and they seem to be searching for someone other than Garrett Richards for their 5th starter.  Gorzo would be useful to them.

Abreu's .208/.259/.333 line isn't exactly the most exciting thing to bring in ...

Abreu is getting cut, with Trout coming up. He could spell LaRoche & play some LF/RF with Werth playing CF

Abreu has not played 1B, I think.

At this point, with the commitment to Harper, I think Abreu is no longer an option.  It is pretty clear that Rizzo never wanted to go in that direction.  If LAA was really willing to eat his contract and not get anything back, then they either overplayed their hand when Rizzo called or Rizzo just never made the call.

I don't buy that Abreu's 20 - 30 ABs is indicative of how he'd play here full time.  He'd be a fine top of the order guy for us, and we would not be committed to him long term.  He's going to have some suitors, but I don't believe the Nats will be one.

JCA I agree with you. I do think Abreu has something left in the tank and unfortunately I think he's going to showcase it with the Phillies and end up hurting us in the end.
