The great rally killer - the good ole double play

It only takes one win to get back on track.  One win plus an Atlanta loss (tomorrow, let's hope) would give us an even further jump.  Please dear god let us get out of this game without further incident.

Got the lead going to the 8th.  I hate point this out, but the 8th is when we gave up a 2 run lead against Phila last Sunday (Howards 2 run homer), the 8th is when the Brewers scored the winning runs on Thursday, and the 8th is when Lee hit the tie homer last night.  That is 3 straight nightmare 8th innings.  Gulp.

Sounds like a huricane is a coming.

Will the Trill's gotta be close to social security age.  His batting average is about average for a pitcher ....

STANTON!!!!

Okay, all I ask in the 9th is that the Damian Miller guy is not up with an opportunity to win the game.  We can't get that scrub out.  Even when we strike him out he drives in a run.

alright!  one-two-three.  way to go Stanton.  Okay, top of the 9th, top of the order - let's add a run or two and WARM UP THE CHIEF!

I hate to it pick, but that's two straight at bats Vidro hasn't been able to get a run home from 3rd with 1 out.  As a #3 hitter we need those runs driven in.

Yeah Guillen seemed to be doing that earlier in the year.  Vidro's been out od circulation for a bit, hopefully he'll get it back

When Johnson gets back, Vidro will most likely be batting 2nd, any extra he can do in the number 3 spot I consider a bonus.

These days I'm so nervous I even expect Cordero to blow the save.  Watch - he'll walk somebody and then give up a homer.

edit: One down.

it's in the books!  What's the Nats record?  53-38?  First place?  Not bad for a 'slumping' team.  Catch ya'all later:)

Thank god.

And Guillen really bounced back from absolute zero (no hits, losing his temper at the plate) to indisputable hero (2-RBI single, excellent game winning catch).

I wonder if over time, if Guillen will see some much better pitches to hit with Wilson hitting behind him?
