Reds' Josh Hamilton on his recovery

Good for him -- I hope he wins this struggle. I think it's uplifting to read about the support he's received from those who work in baseball and from fans. I hadn't realized there were also fans who heckle him about it (St. Louis fan = putz IMO).

I read a story on him 4-5 years ago in ESPN magazine regarding his fall from grace.

Saw the piece on HBO Real Sports talking about his recovery. Verdict was that he's playing in A-ball, is too old for it, and it is unlikely that he can make up for lost time.

Then there is this (a couple of posts down)...

which would be tough to argue with because it was his first action in 4 years and he played 15 games hit .260 with a .687 OPS

I could only find info on Dukes, not Hamilton, via the link?

its not the link. in like the second or third post i say "whatever happened to hamilton" and ken says something like "in A-ball and not very impressive".  its not like he came out of nowhere, it was even more severe. people knew he was in A-ball and sucking and then he plays well this year
