Phillies have offered Hamilton a 3 year deal

three years for around $80 million.  The Dallas morning news says the deal could be done tonight.

So what will Miami win next year, 20 games?

Rays are using some elements of the JimBo school of team building.  Yunel Escober, Fausto Carmona/Roberto Hernandez.  Luke Scott made some headlines for throwing banana chips at a black teammate and generally being a racist nut (article here - http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=6395744).

They also tried to bring Manny back for one more run a couple of years ago.

I guess they have to be a little creative.  What's Elijah Dukes up to these days?

Ken Rosenthal reports the Red Sox are close to signing Dempster.

What's the average age of their team next year, 35?

Buster Olney is reporting that the Angels are about to make a "big move" in the free agent market.  Speculation is that they will sign Josh Hamilton.  Imagine being a pitcher in the NL West if that happens.

LA seems like the worst place on the planet for a guy like Hamilton.

5 year deal as well.  Man, if Pujols and Hamilton hit like they can next year that will be crazy to watch.  If they both hit the wall in the next few years the Angels will have a ton of dead money tied up in those two guys.  They might have 50M in bad contracts to two guys by 2015.

Doesn't really matter where he goes, there's always going to be the temptation to relapse.  You can isolate and surround yourself with the right people anywhere, even LA.

If Texas offers LaRoche 3 years, he's gone.

I can't believe Hamilton got that much money and years. It'll be interesting to see what the Rangers do now.

Trout and Trumbo will be around for a while, as will that third base prospect kid they love so much if he pans out.

Did Arizona really just give up Bauer and Shaw for Didi Gregorius?  :lmao:
Yes they did.

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Andy and I live in Las Vegas, I've been a dbacks fan since they originated in 1998 and generally go by the username dbacks_Nation on other boards.  As you can see here, that's not the case, and the Arizona Diamondbacks front office and management is making it harder and harder to support that team as days go by.

I've been interested in the Nationals ever since they moved from Montreal, I did start following them more closely over the past 2 seasons and last year they were the most fun team in baseball to watch.  So if you guys don't mind, I may be on this board more and more.

Welcome.  Nats were happy the Dbacks didn't bring back LaRoche a couple of years ago.
