When all you have is smoke and mirrors, there is some luck involved. If his pitch is off by even a fraction of an inch, it becomes hittable due to his inability to blow away hitters or trick them. It looks like midnight has arrived for John and he's turned back into a pumpkin.
If John goes 6 innings and only gives up 2-3 runs I would say he is on his way back.

Is he really any better than Stammen or Detwiler? I just don't think there is room for him anymore.
They are tattooing his pitches, it isn't like they are hitting weak ground balls or bloopers.

He had a total of 8 in his career back in '06. Maybe it is someone else, but that's my guess.
