  • We had 'em all the way.
So Taft is the man.  Do we call him Will, Bill, Willie, Billy, Big Man, Tubs...

Shotgun Willie sits around in his underwear
Bitin' on a bullet, pullin' out all of his hair
A shotgun Willie has got all of his family there
Well, you can't make a record if you ain't got nothin' to say

You can't make a record if you ain't got nothin' to say
You can't play music if you don't know nothin' to play
A shotgun Willie sits around in his underwear
Bitin' on a bullet, pullin' out all of his hair

Shotgun Willie has got all of his family there
Well, John T Fours was workin' with the Klu Klux Klan
The six foot five John T. was a hell of a man
Made a lot of money sellin' sheets on the family plan

Threw out the first presidential pitch ever - to Walter Johnson.  Great Washington baseball selection!

I'm assuming there will be a Teddy-Taft match race, right?

That's an odd choice, but whatever.  I liked the original 4 because they were the Rushmore presidents.  I was hoping for Ol' Hickory Andrew Jackson, but the Native American population hates MLB enough.

Thanks PB for the image... he definitely looks more refined than the original 4 in that suit... also he looks quite trim.

With that mustache, the eyes, and the trash talking on Twitter, Big Chief is definitely being set up to play the villain role.  He got pissed when me and my girls started yelling Let's go Teddy at him.  As someone who roots for the bad guys in the movies, I'm digging big Bill (even if he's not as big as would be historically accurate).

Too skinny.

They didn't have stomach stapling back in the day, with modern medicine he's ready to run.  81 wins or bust.

Ok that'll be an interesting take on the race. I was definitely hoping for some sort of joker/mischief maker in the race but Bill fits the bill it seems.

Surely you saw the Chad Cordero and Dmitri Young bobbleheads?  All caricatures in the Nats organisation are required to attend an aggressive fat camp.

Too skinny.

+1. Everything says that Taft was as big as a house.

Great choice though. I thought of Taft for the same reason: he threw out the first pitch; first president to do that. Now someone has to remind Selig that baseball doesn't start until the President throws of the first pitch. Nats at home and Cincy at home: the first two games.

Looks like Mark Twain  ....

Twain was too nice, take a look at Big Chief, he's evil to the core.

So why bother with Taft if you're going to make him skinny
