Think we're playing Lopez at SS today for a reason other than just to give Guzman the day off?

haha Casto is a funny dude.

I'd rather have him here over Flop.  At least he wants to be here and the guys like him.  Also a better defender.

Yep, plus Manny pinch-hits for Wily Mo with Casto in late-inning situations where you just need someone to put a bat on the ball. This is the perfect time to wish Wily Mo well and send him packing.

Damn, Perez is night and day in his pitch count.  At this point last start, he was on the verge of reaching his pitch limit.  Now he has 23 pitches through 3 innings, he could conceivably last 7 innings.

Carpenter just mentioned that Perez has a perfect game after 3.

Good observation but I think he will be here until the All Star break.

Florida is last in the league in fielding percentage.
An enormous source of pride for NatsAddict...

Facing a Minor League-like lineup probably helps.

But I wonder if it was requested? Do teams do that?

If he keeps up this pace he'll be at 46 pitches through 6.  I'd hope he can get through 7 if he only has 46 pitches through 6.  I would expect the Marlins to start taking a few pitches.

Somebody finally read a damn scouting report. OP is an offspeed guy. Throw breaking balls down the middle and these jokers will strike themselves out. They crush fastballs.

Wont help. Only 2 balls so far.

I was just reading RBI and how would you like to have those 5 or a near facsimile as our starting rotation?

Where?

3B and left that's for sure.  Would love to see him learn 2B.

And Jesus just got robbed.  Wes Helms you're going to hell after that.

They could but I doubt teams would honor their request. However we are desperate to unload Lopez so maybe.

Crowd size + talent on the field should equal your answer: Yes, this is a minor league game.

LOL Lopez doesn't play 3B and he only played LF because of need.

I realize that but he's saying Casto is better defensively than Lopez at positions Lopez doesn't play.

If we can keep Hanley off the bases today, I guarantee that we'll win.

Ok, I see what you're saying. Well then Casto is better defensively at positions Lopez doesn't play.  ;)
