WASA O street pumping station
« Topic Start: September 26, 2012, 11:25:49 PM »
Are there plans to actually redevelop this structure itself, or just develop something on the open land adjacent to it?  This place screams for turning it into a complex with condos, offices and restaurant/retail on the groundlevel.  Imagine some great bars and restuarants with big patios right across from the stadium.

Also, any plans for the south side of stadium where the cement place was?  Need something there too.

Not sure about the WASA site, but there are plans for mixed residential/commercial/hotel development on the tract of land where the cement plant was: http://www.jdland.com/dc/floridarock.cfm

Yes, eventually the parts of the O Street Pumping Station around but not including the historic 1905 building (and the other building at 125 O Street) are to have probably residential and retail, as part of The Yards. (Though it's not officially part of the Yards footprint yet, there's still negotiations going on between the city, DC Water, and Forest City.)

jd - is  the incredible building there a pumping station or part of  the navy yard?  it really is beautiful.  This time of the year, when the sun angle is right, is an incredibly  impressive sight from the 1B line ramps at the top.
