The Padres try to break out of their slump and avoid losing consecutive games to the lowly Washington Nationals  for the first time in nearly four years when they continue a three-game series on Tuesday night.

Chris Young (2-2, 4.33 ERA) starts for the Padres in the middle game, making his first Petco Park appearance after a couple of rough outings on the road.

Young has allowed 12 runs in 14 1-3 innings in his last three starts since throwing seven innings of four-hit ball in a 1-0 home win over San Francisco on April 9.

Right-hander Shawn Hill  (2-2, 2.76) has shown improvement in each of his starts this season, and starts for the Nationals on Tuesday.

Hill gave up two runs and four hits in a career-high eight-plus innings in Thursday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia. The right-hander has allowed two earned runs in his five starts this year.

I don't know if any of you are 'watching' the pregame Nats Xtra but whatever the problem it is they are having I hope they get it fixed shortly.

OK they're resetting it and staring over. I wonder what it was that made them start again.

So my typing that altered the game, then why play it? Last night everyone was making similar predictions.

I believe the Padres lineup is different tonight. I think they have Cruz leading off.

Os just lost. Boy, I hope we catch them. It'll be so great where I work if we actually have a better record, even for a week. I've been taking so much shiite...

The Padres announcer just said that Marcus Giles is trying to get "his ribs back in order".  These guys are so freakin stupid.

MLB.TV.  The home team's station carries the game.

Same with the XM broadcasts. I bought XM to listen to the Nats before they got on better radio stations. Not that 1500 AM or 107.7 FM have really strong signals...

I've been "watching" on MLB Game Day where it says Hill is hitting 93 mph. Is that right?
