I don't think that's what he's saying.   I think it's more "throw strikes", "hustle", etc.    Some guys mail it in.

this pitching staff doesn't realize how lucky they are to get these chances to pitch in the big leagues.

They take it for granted. And like Dibble said unless they get better they will be off the team next year. We are going to field a completely new roster in 2010.

Yeah "throw strikes" is the most irritating to me, it's like saying "get a hit" every single time a batter comes to the plate, there are times pitchers just don't have it that day and they can't throw strikes, yet everyone screams "throw a strike" like it's just that easy every single time.

"Throw a strike" ain't as hard as "get a hit".    A strike is what you do.    If you can't do that as a pitcher, you're in over your head ... even in little league.
