Call me crazy but I honestly think that having a real professional offense (and defense) that can pick up our young pitchers when they are struggling is the difference-maker here.  Stammen would've never had a chance to settle down from those rough innings on previous years' teams.

I don't know - we had a pretty good offense last year.  Not world beaters, but they were major league quality for once.

I think a huge difference maker is preparation.  This team just knows how to play the game.  They looked so sloppy under Acta.  They ran bases, swung at bad pitches, took hittable pitches, didn't field worth a lick, and just played listlessly.

Eh, only for the first couple months.  They cooled down significantly after that.  Might've even only been 6 weeks or so.  Of course that'll probably happen with this team, too, but for now, I'm thinking it matters.

We may have had a pretty good offense last year, but how bad were they with RISP compared to this year?  That is a major difference.

I hear he has Stammena.

And speaking of Stammena, will he pitch another inning?

Obviously not fast enough.  I'd rather take my chances with Pudge's bat with 2 outs.

It's like spitting into the wind against that catcher.  Why take a runner off base, when the best batter in MLB is at the plate?
