Doubtful. The picks are those of Portland and New Orleans, two good teams. It is very likely that they end up being picks in the early to mid twenties, making it quite doubtful that they'll get anyone with star potential.

They'll have a top 10 pick of their own, so they'll probably trade up. Jordan will probably want to get Harrison Barnes.

Wallace will turn 29 in a couple of months, so, IMO, it just made sense to trade him. 2 first round picks and a couple expiring contracts is a decent return.

This is universally considered to be a really crappy draft class. No one with a good pick will even consider trading down. Also, I'm not against the Bobcats trading Wallace; I just think that they should have gotten more in return. Portland has several young players, like Luke Babbitt and Armon Johnson, who aren't getting any playing time but could potentially have been good players for the Bobcats, but Jordan didn't get any of them.

Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire made an about-turn Saturday after originally ripping Brigham Young University for removing Brandon Davies from the men's basketball team for having sex with his girlfriend.

BYU dismissed Davies from the team Tuesday for violating the Mormon school's Honor Code, which forbids students from having premarital sex. BYU is a private school owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"Don't ever go to BYU," Stoudemire wrote on his Twitter account Friday, before going on to reference Davies' race. "They kick a Young Educated (Black) Brother OUT OF SCHOOL. The kid had premarital sex. Not suspended, Not Release. Wow!"

A second post read, "P.S. With his girlfriend. Come on BYU don't kick the kid out of school. Let's be honest he is in college. Let's the kid live a little."

But on Saturday, Stoudemire tweeted a completely alternate view on Twitter.

"I totally understand the actions of BYU, I totally respect the school an (sic) the conduct rules. BYU has a great athletic program," Stoudemire wrote, drawing criticism from his followers on the social networking site.

Amare knows basketball. Period. It's when he gets out of his comfort zone that he becomes a jackass. The guy at BYU knew the rules coming in. I agree with Wilbon though. Somebody set his rear up and he copped a plea based on the honor code.

Just finished watching the Kings come this close to beating the Lakers to end their time in Sacramento. They were down by twenty in the fourth and came back to take the lead, but then Kobe nailed a three to send it in to overtime, where the Lakers put it away. Great atmosphere in Sacto; Arco Arena was rocking like it was the early 2000s again. I'm glad that the fans came out to support their team one last time.

Great 1st playoff game between the Pacers and Bulls. The Pacers led the entire game - until 48 seconds were left, at times leading by 10 or more

. But in the end, Rose (39 points) took over the game and willed the Bulls to a win. I hope John Wall was watching and taking notes.

Not sure if anyone saw the last minute of Sunday's Celtics - Knicks 1st game. Anyone who tells me the NBA is not more rigged and fixed than figure skating is delusional. The Celtics had 3 critical non-calls to allow them to win the game - Garnett tripping the defender covering Allen so Allen could get the wide open three; the uncalled technical on Delonte West for coming onto the court and chest bumping with Ray Alllen to celebrate while the ball was in play and getting in the way of one of the knicks coming up court, and Allen probably fouling the shooter on his attempt at a winning 3.

I've said that the NBA is ref'ed hierarchically, so that the star gets the call on the lesser star / player. I think it was Anthony that Allen might have fouled, so you would expect the call, but it was too much of a desperation shot. Decent look, Anthony gets the call.

It's funny to track Paul Pierce's free throws. Most players rank below him in the league, so he gets a lot of free throws off of blocking calls when he drives, but when he goes against a guy who ranks higher than him in the pecking order, the calls go against him on charges for the exact same contact and move. Such a joke. the WWE is more on the level. And I'm a Celtic fan.

The NBA is crooked as hell. The officiating is clearly favoring Miami. It's embarrassing how bad the refs are freaking Dallas. It's not like the Heat need the help. They are the superior defensive team.

How did Dallas make it to the finals? They are bad defensively. They don't convert efficiently enough on offense. And they are soft and get pushed around on the boards. The west has been the stronger conference in recent years but this year it totally went to crap to allow a team of this caliber to come out of it.

I agree. For some odd reason the Heat disappear for stretches of time but there's no question they are the better team.

I'm with Spider and you. The other day, we were discussing the Finals and figured that since the Heat went up 2-1 that they would probably win the series in 6. This morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see Dallas won. The Heat disappear on occasion at critical times.
