If TBS' Craig Sager takes the job, no one would be making fun of Phil Wood's wardrobe any more...

Sager does it on purpose.  It doesn't seem like Wood does.  So I'd still make fun of Wood.

Sager would be a fun addition to the broadcast, though.

but her boss (Tim "Now Hear This" Brandt) is an Orioles-lover.

He's the reason I won't watch channel 7. He covers the ravens as well. I wish they would replace his ass and send him to baltimore.

Told you so.

That's the nature of the position. They hire good looking chicks and it's inevitable that the chicks will eventually bang a few of the players. The Redskins had a chick covering them for years who got passed around among a couple defensive players and eventually worked her way to at least one offensive player. She's no longer covering the team. Actually, she's no longer in this market.

If that's true, Brandt should be ashamed of himself.   I have some sympathy for guys 40 years old who were born after the Senators left and became Orioles fans.   Brandt is in his 60s. He grew up in DC and he was at least 20 when the Senators left.

James Brown of CBS Sports is a part owner of the Nationals, and introduces the team on opening Day.  He just turned 62 and lives in Bethesda, MD.  I doubt that he'd want to be a Nationals' sideline reporter for 162 games.  But if the Lerners are All In this year, (while Ted Lerner is 87), maybe he'd like a one-year ride... with free Gatorade.

Taylor set a low bar on the "reporting" aspect of the job.

Thanks for the link.

"Favorite" Debbi moment...

Bob: Now lets throw it to Debbi somewhere in the city of San Diego.

Debbi: Thanks Bob, I'm here on a rooftop...

Just so you young and you DC guys will know, Lindsey Nelson was doing the loud sports jacket thing before Sager was in grade school:

Ken Rosenthal has been known to have a weird sportcoat/suit and bow tie selection.

Well, I think some here might be willing to chip in, a dollar at a time.

Send her back to Gainesville, FL - heck, I'll help pack her bags and find a suitable replacement for her. There's a lot better talent to be had in the NE (anyone ever see the Red Sox's sideline gal - she makes Akra look like she fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch). Granted, I loathe the University of Florida - that's probably a big reason for my distaste for the reporter with the smoker's voice. Either way, I voted no - let her go!

Smoker's voice is reason enough.
