TF...you can have the Dixie Kings.  My two biggest busts this year have been Zimmerman and Verlander.  OBP has been pretty solid...other than Headley..but pitching has been too soft.

We are 13th of 14 teams, but can move out of the West cellar and into 12th overall this week...for what that is worth.

I sent you a PM about taking over East's 3rd place Beer Here, which is a contender, W-L-T of 81-62-7 .563, 9.5 games back. The owner, sph274, authorized a co-owner, but hasn't responded to whether he'd agree to give up complete control.  He managed it regularly through June 14th, and then just lost track of time. I assume he'll just let you run it.

  JCA Crystal City took over Nathan's Neckbeard on April 13 and added BlindLeadBlind to the name. He's worked his way up in the standings.  He went 10-0-0 last week and moved into 1st place in the East Division!

The new owner of your league slot could have changed the team name, but just kept it as Beer Here.

TigerFan has taken over Beer Here, which is now Tiger Beer Here. Tokeydog's beer-holding avatar still appears on its team page. (sph274 offered Beer Here to a co-owner more than one hour before varoadking did, on July 8, 2014.)

Two rounds of two-week playoffs begin Monday Sept 1st. Four teams advance: the two division winners and the top two records (W-L-T %). Everyone else has consolation matches.

The two teams in 7th place of each division are still looking for co-owners to take over:
Dixie Goodness Kings - 7th in East division, 54-90-6 .380, 28.5 games back
The Fighting Mongooses (last year's champion) - 7th in East division, 46-92-12 .347, 42 games back

As an incentive, maybe whoever takes  those two teams over should get to pick where in the draft order they make their pick next year.  I've never done a snake draft so I don't know if it is better to be late, early, or in the middle.

Fighting Mongooses have 3 active guys on the DL and a 4th in the minors (Danny Salazar), but have Matt Latos still on the DL even though he is now back.   First move probably should be to activate Latos and DL the guys who are DL eligible and not coming back soon, then pick up some active players to fill those open slots. 

The website has news on Cliff Lee, one of those DL players.

The ESPN Rules are not clear about ties in the Championship round, but I believe we had a tie within the last 2 years, as MDS alluded to. I can always ask someone at ESPN I think it was resolved with a second tiebreaker, which might have been overall record in the regular season. I think first tiebreaker is Head to Head during the regular season. ESPN has it all built in, and will declare the winner after it's over.

The 2014 championship teams met twice this season. Each team won once:
Week 1 Tiger Beer Here beat BlindLeadBlind NathanNeckbeard 6-4-0.
Week 14 BlindLeadBlind NathanNeckbeard beat Tiger Beer Here 9-1-0.
 
The away team won each match. I assume that if this ends in a tie, JCA-CrystalCity would win, as the division winner and the best winning percentage in the regular season.
