Church = bum
The entire offense = bums... 17 runs scored in 6 games this week for the Nats (2.8333 runs a game). Oh yeah, they also have been shutout twice this week.  What an embarrassment

The game barely lasted over 2 hours. Great job by Lannan though  :clap:

AK, Church, Belly. I'll count on Belly getting a hit/on base, will see if theres anyone on base when he does so.

i was wrong. Two rhyming words that usually represent our 9th inning sorry attempts at a comeback...MEEK AND WEAK.

Pitching is definitely not our problem.  Our bats are terrible.

Time to crack some cold ones to soften the collective anemic offenses of Washington.

I wonder if these Little Leaguers on ESPN could do a better job than our offense (wink)

Yup ... his last two outings have been very impressive ... looks like he's really settling in - if he keeps this up ... the future looks bright ...

Maybe we can avoid the sweep tomorrow, but chances are we won't. I hope Bacsik enjoys and savors his last day as a starter. He should be completely removed from the roster and sent to AAA for Hill imo. I can't stomach his bald head and goober face anymore.

They just might have... These guys are terrible.  It's a shame because the pitching is so solid.  If we don't sign Aaron Rowand and another bat I will be pissed.

Does anyone know why we threw 3 Left-handed starters 3 games in a row against Arizona who is 22-13 against lefties?? Bacsik is going to get murdered tomorrow.

Wow ... I'm constantly amazed at how we act on this board when we face a great pitcher - the Nats hit three home runs in one inning yesterday - Webb is just better than the hitters - in fact he's been better than every hitter he's faced for the last 4 games - why can't we ever give credit where credit is due?

Was this before or after he crushed that home run yesterday??

It was before his 3 for 24 run and after his player of the week award.

Getting beaned has nothing to do with it - Dmitri's not hitting behind him in the line up .. he's getting pitched to differently ... he's fine ...

Guys get beaned on the head from time to time but they don't go in the tank because of it, unless they're sissies. Zimmerman is just in a mini slump. He was slumping badly early on and that wasn't due to getting hit on the head. It happens. Let's cut him a break and let him get it together and he will get it going again. Of that I am sure. The guy he faced tonight just owns him.

Also, let's give him more credit for being tough enough to shake that off.

Yeah, I went and met him and got his autograph this afternoon.  Pretty cool.  I'm going to watch him pitch on Wednesday afternoon at Potomac since it's 10 minutes from my house.

That's pretty cool, especially since you two are probably around the same age. I'm really enjoying following our young ponies in the minors. It makes it that much more exciting when they get the call up to the parent club like Lannan and Hanrahan did a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to see Marrero, Detwiller, Balester and some of the others make it to the show.
