These guys are so impatient this evening.  I don't understand why they MUST swing at everything.  Why not make these second-rate pitchers work a little bit?  Somebody clue me in here.

and ANOTHER one pitch out by Vinny Castilla.

Castilla obviously doesn't want to play tonight.  He goes to the plate and wants to get back to the dugout as quickly as possible.

Putting him in the lineup was a terrible decision.  Keeping him in just expands the iineptitude of Frank Robinson.

Our pitchers have be fantastic this year...there's no doubt in my mind that if we had just one maybe two Manny Ramirezes or Andruw Joneses we would be kicking everybody's ass.  It's so damn frustrating.

travis hughes is good
stanton CANNOT pitch to righties. very good against lefties though
schneider is  S    L      O     W.  needs to race baerga (it would be closer than you think
travis hughes's success is reminding me of Jon Rauch who is due to come back soon.  these two and bergamann will really help out. Imagine if we can get Ayala back.

SCHNEIDER Is awesome. I was a met fan. Piazza NEVER threw people out. This concept is foreign to me.

his put out of Pierre was amazing. side armed it off his back foot.

Now we're using up pitchers  and frittering away pinch hitters.

You can't recover from a bad starting lineup.

pinch hitting for hughes is fine. we have the pitchers, we have the hitters.  actually we might not have the pitchers. but we need 2 runs before we can worry about that. give that wilkerson and byrd are the only ones making good contact. they need runners on base

If you start Zimmerman, Carroll and Short rather than Castilla, Cruz and Guzman you'll probably score more runs.  So you don't have to burn through so many pitchers.

We don't have enough pitchers.  This is a really bad spot in our rotation.  We only have Patterson in game four.  In this game and tomorrow, we are going to have to score runs to win.

If you score more runs then you can afford to give up more runs.  In games two and three of this series, defense really has to take a back seat.  If we're going to win we're going win "high scoring" games.

<sigh> oh well...3up 3down.  Guess we will have to do it in dramatic, cardiac fashion in the bottom of the 9th.  How Nat-Like.  :?

Hitting the home run to the upper deck on Sunday might have been the worst thing that could have happened to Wilson.  He is 0-8 since that, and he has been swinging as if he wants to hit it out of RFK every time.  Just get on freaking base.  How come some nights we look so lost at the plate?

Vinny Castilla leads off the 9th.  Somebody wanna lay odds on Vinny going longer than one pitch this at-bat?
