Cool...Columbus is a brand new club for us - so we aren't real keen on the way things work out there yet.  You follow them out there?  If so...feel free to post anything in here - we love inside info on the minor league clubs.

Well, i have for the past 3 years i have had season tix. I am Yankee fan for life, in the AL. I know most of the staff and workers there. I do ALOT of autographs and somewhat get to know the player personally went POSSIBLE. I follow minor leagues baseball more than the bigs. Columbus can be a great area for baseball. I just hope that the city and state shows some support for the team in the next two years.

I will be following the boards alot in the minor league area. I hope that the clippers do well and its a fun year..

I normally attend 50-60 games a year..kj

Well then make sure you drop in from time to time and let us know anything exciting that goes on up there.  Nats2k6 is in the Vermont Lakemonster area, I'm right down the street from Potomac....and I know we have a guy from Hagerstown as well.  So far...I think you are the only member we have from the Colombus area...so your input would be great!   8)

Anything eventful about players or the club would be fun to read about.  Chip's been doing the Senators AA team in Harrisburg, which we are more than grateful.   :D

I rarely comment on the minor league reports, because I just can't add anything of value to the discussions normally (of course, that doesn't stop me in other areas...).

But I always read them with interest, and would encourage all of you to post as often as the spirit moves you, on what's going on down under.  Keep in mind that lots of folks read your posts, despite limited responses.

Dang it, I used to like seeing New Orleans when they came through Omaha.  I used to work at the stadium in Omaha and got to interact with a lot of those guys but Columbus is in the IL so I won't be able to see them come through anymore.  bummer.

I think it's a case of mistaken identity...  it says "Ender" Chavez, and I doubt the Mets would be looking to get rid of him anyway after the way he played for them.

Thanks for helping keep track of who's coming and who's going in the minors. That said, you left out that the Nats also signed relief pitcher, Jesus Colome (last 6 seasons with the Devil Rays) to a minor league contract.

Was that with the Clippers Ken?  He's only informing us of Colombus.

Hmm, good question, all the MLB Free Agent Tracker says is, that he was signed as a minor league free agent.

It's really hard to say who has the best chances of making the roster, because a lot of it depends on which players make the the major league one. There are names not on that roster that could end up playing with Columbus. Guys like Larry Broadway, for example, who would be sent down or traded if he doesn't make the Nats. There are too many variables this early to make predictions.

Of the guys listed on the roster, Bacsik, Michalak, White, Abreu, Colome, Everts, Diaz and Nall, all have a chance to make the pitching staff. Behind the plate, is anyone's guess, Thurston and Dorta will make the infield squad, as will Lombard and McDonald in the outfield. As for who else, who knows....
