Walks are just brutal.  Too bad we couldn't get a few in front of those homers.

Boesch is pretty good, the Tigers have brought up some studs this year (though Jackson is fading fast).

I'm actually half joking, as I think most others are as well as a way to cope with what we're being forced to watch tonight.

My comment was actually directed at everyone BUT you.  I'd easily wager you're the ONLY one joking.

His BABIP was so high that it was only to be expected for Jackson to fade a bit.

By the way, Guzman is an awful hitter.

Yep.

Livo is famous for finishing terrible games, which skews his ERA. I'm not worried, but you have to expect these because he's not a #2 starter.

I'm surprised there was no 'slider' talk thrown in that Wired Wednesday segment.

If you can't get loose, you shouldn't start the game.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

people have been waiting months for a chance to bash livan. so enjoy it, get your shots in.

i fully expect a self-congratulatory "i told you so" article on fangraphs before the 5th inning is over.

me, i am not going to bash the guy till he strings 2 or 3 bad starts in a row and his era reaches the mid-4 range.

How do you walk 2 guys in the same inning who have an 0-2 count?

The 5th?  I'll bet it's already up.

interesting that we are ready to dump livan after a single bad start, but we argue about whether lannan should go or not.

The players on both teams just seem to be going through the motions right now.

Search for my post if you like, but getting his ERA up to 4.5 is going to be a challenge with the start he had. Something like a string of 20 starts of 6 ERA ball. His 1st quarter season was that good.

If Livan finishes the year with a 4.5 ERA he's already way out-performed my expectations.
