Just want to say, we're getting pretty spoiled.

I'm ok with this.

Yeah all those postseason victories are clearly going to our heads.

I'm still halfway waiting for the other shoe to drop, 2008-10 still fresh in my mind.

We're completely spoiled.  Look at the records of Gio and Strasburg.  Last year Lannan lead the team with 10 wins.  And Jordan should eclipse that total as well.  Will Edwin?

Me too.

I was talking with a friend today about the Nats. He's a very knowledgeable long-time baseball fan (and just barely a minor leaguer for a Summer). I was expressing my fear that the Nats would tank somehow and miss the playoffs. He said "It's mid freaking August. They're not a fluke."

I still wait for the devastating collapse, though.

One more win and we eclippse the 2007 team. Only need 9 wins to be the best team since they moved here. Thanks OC for the comparative record keeping. Unfortunately you will be laid off before the month ends

OK guys and gals I am leaving town until Labor Day. Can I count on you to keep the winning going? No screw ups. I have cameras posted every where. I really wish I could see the Braves series. Probably the most important series since relocation. I hope the team doesn't over look that we have to play and win against the Mets.

I KNOW they're not a fluke.  I've just sat through too many melt downs.  They're wearing the same jerseys they wore in 2009.  That's hard to erase.  Just glad the team isn't playing with that mentality.

They are wearing nearly the same hats the team wore in 1971, but an interesting comparison is to the 1925 team, which played well all year.

1925 Nationals: 73 - 40 on August 19, beating Tris Speaker's Indians 12 - 8. (Speaker went 3 for 5, raising his average to a respectable .391).
2012 Nationals: 73 - 45 on August 15, continuing to trail the '25 pennant winners by about 2.5 games. Also respectable, especially since the 1925 team had had no long-term injuries to the key players.

This team looks good.

Bryce... Ugh. He's probably not one of our 9 best hitters right now.

Some of the Nats pitchers are better hitters than Bryce right now.     ;)

...and, yes, it was a crime against baseball that they stopped the season. I didn't even have a team and I still thought is was some sort of crime.
